OUR HISTORY

Since 1976, United Way Estevan has raised money for community programming. We support and encourage volunteering and strengthen our community through important social causes.

Every year in mid-October during our Annual Telethon, board members, volunteers and community members pull together with Access Communications and Golden West Radio to successfully reach our goal. We are proud to say that for most of these years, we have been the first in Canada to reach our goal. We are also one of the top 10 in Canada for money raised on a per-capita basis with one of the lowest costs to operate. We attribute this to generous and hardworking people of our community.

We held our first Day of Caring in 2011. Our annual Day of Caring is a full day dedicated to helping those in need, doing everything from washing windows to painting fences and yard work. It’s a way for volunteers in our community to show that they really do care!

Our volunteer Board of Directors has over 20 members, many of whom have been a part of United Way for decades. The board, alongside our Executive Director work year-round to support our community, raise money, and give back. Our success is your success.
